Hi everyone! I’m Barbora and this is my introduction to my au pair life.
Au Pair in America Bloggers
Hello again guys! Last time I wrote a blog post summer was still holding a very tight grip around Boston, but finally two weeks ago my favorite season arrived, namely Autumn.
Hi guys! It’s been a while since you last heard from me, but the biggest change is that now I’m here in the States! I’ve officially been here in Boston for 50 days and I’m loving it!
I found my perfect match in North Carolina. We are considered the South of the states, and we have hot, humid summers and mild winters. Only 3 hours away is the East coast with nice beaches, whereas if you head 3 hours West, you’ll reach the mountains to go skiing or hiking. In this post I’m going to tell you about my state and also my trips to other places.
So, I recently did the APIA Instagram takeover. I covered this topic on there, but I wanted to put these words in a document and blog because I’m sure it will get lost in the swarm of amazing photos that is on the Instagram. And this list is just WAY TO GOOD to get lost in the swarm of photos.
Introducing our latest addition to the Au Pair in America blogger team – Isabella from Brazil!
“A couple of months ago, I started my au pair adventure. And each day, I’m feeling more and more sure that I made the right choice.”
As an au pair you get the chance to travel and see different places. And you might even get the chance to travel with your host family! A host family doesn’t need to bring you with them on their vacation. They could travel without their au pair. During that time, the au pair is off and can stay at home relax or travel somewhere else! I was fortunate enough and my host family took me on their trips. In this blog, I will tell you guys about two of my trips with my host family, and I will give you some advice when traveling with your host family.
“I’m not sure if I want a stay-at-home-mom, I’m afraid that she will look over my shoulder and that I don’t get along with her!” These were my thoughts in the beginning of my application process, before I even had one interview. I think that this a common prejudice and in some cases it can be true. But I also believe that if you choose your family wisely and talk to the family about any concerns you have, it will turn out good for you.
Hey guys… During the baseball season my family needs me a lot on the weekends so I try to use my free weekend as best as possible. Last weekend I went on a trip to New Orleans with two of my closest friends here…
Minna | My experience with the American Embassy
Hi again! I feel like you all got to know me a bit better in my last blog post, both in terms of myself but also my host family. I’m so excited for my life in Boston to begin! But before my departure, I have quite a lot of stuff to do! Some, I have already ticked off of my list, but I thought that in this blog post, I could share one of the bigger things on my to do list; namely my appointment at the American Embassy here in Sweden for my J-1 visa.
