While lockdown may not be the ideal situation, it has definitely bonded me and my host family for life.
I’m a Canadian au pair, currently living on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York. When I began my time here as an au pair, I never could have imagined that the world would throw so many curve-balls, and while I certainly didn’t expect much of my time here to be spent under lockdown, I am still so glad that I am here.
On this day, Americans usually celebrate together with their friends and families. Due to the current pandemic, this year will be slightly different, but we’ve decided we can still make the most out of it!
