Ever wondered what Chicago, Christina Aguileira and a Cupcake ATM have in common? We’ll give you a clue… it’s our lovely Brazilian blogger Jessika and her latest blog post. Read on to find out what she’s been up to recently and how those 3 things are all connected!
Hello guys, How are you?
I am very well and fully recovered from my hospital stay. Today I’ ll tell you what I have been doing during the last month or so. After 365 days of my first au pair year, the memories of everything I’ve been through made me think about how strong I’ve become during this experience. Today thinking about Jessika from yesteryear I can say that I am totally different from the before Au Pair in America Jessika. I have become stronger, independent, responsible and more dedicated to making everything that I dream come true.
COMING BACK FIGHTING
My first year I can define with the Christina Aguileira’s song Fighter:
“Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter”
One more Fall last here in the United States and another year ahead to realize more dreams. ❤️ I started my second year with a trip to Windy City. Yep, the beautiful and incredible city Chicago. Here are my favourite tourist spots in Chicago. I hope you will all have the opportunity to go and explore!
GREETINGS FROM CHICAGO
If you love graffiti as much as I do you should go and see the mural “Greetings from Chicago”. Each letter in the painting represents an important point of Chicago.
C – Deep Dish Pizza & Chicago Style Hotdog. H– Gold Coast / Downtown Skyline. I– Chicago Flag & Illinois Centennial Monument in Logan Square. C – Abstract artwork by Amuse126 depicting the extremes of Chicago weather. A – Chicago Professional Sports Teams. G – Muddy Waters & Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Water Tower. O – The Bean Sculpture. The graffiti is beautiful and well worth a visit.
SKY DECK
Did you even go to Chicago if you didn’t get a photo at the Sky Deck? If you are in Chicago this is a must see! The Sky Deck is the tallest observation deck in the USA, 412 meters above the ground and the view is simply breath-taking!
CLOUD GATE “THE BEAN”
Cloud Gate is a giant silvery bean, sounds a little strange right? Well it’s actually the most famous tourist spot in Chicago, right in the middle of the AT&T Plaza in Millennium Park. It’s definitely worth a visit and my advice is to get there early! I woke up at 5 am and arrived at the Bean at 5:50 am to be able to get some photos, as during the day it is full of people but at 5am it was just me and the Bean!
BIG MONSTER TOYS
If you want to feel like a kid again, you definitely have to visit this factory which has the coolest door on earth. The factory is in the West Loop area but if you are visiting Chicago and want to add original photos to your “Chicago album” you have to make an effort to go and check it out.
ATM CUPCAKE MACHINE
Guys, this machine is real!! It’s not just a cute, fake machine to take photos of, it’s completely functional! She is Sprinkles’ “cupcakes” a renowned cupcake shop from the United States. They started with just the cupcakes (now also make cookies and ice cream) in a common store, with normal business hours. After a while they launched the ATM Cupcake and the idea is as cool as it sounds: you “scoop” cupcakes straight from the machine. Oh, yeah!
In addition to the points I’ve mentioned above, I also visited lots of other great sights in Chicago: Navy Pier, Buckingham Fountain, Chinatown, Chicago White Sox Stadium and Giordano’s restaurant. It was four days of great fun and I totally fell in love with Chicago.
Dreaming costs nothing and fulfilling your dreams just depends on you.
See you in the next blog
Kisses, Jessie
