Festive: Feelings of joy and celebration due to a special occasion.

Example: “The street looks very festive with the Christmas lights!”

Bauble

Bauble: A small decoration to place on a Christmas Tree. Usually ball-shaped, but they come in many shapes and sizes.

Example: “The tree was decorated with colorful baubles

Stocking

Carol: A traditional and joyful religious song, sang in the US around Christmas time. You may get people knocking at your door to sing carols to you!

Example: “We heard some people singing Christmas carols at the mall yesterday”

Stocking

Stocking: A large decorative sock that is often hung by the fireplace, and filled with small gifts for Christmas.

Example: “I’ll buy this gift to put in her stocking!”

Gingerbread

Gingerbread: A sweet cake or cookie flavored with spices and ginger. Often baked around the Holiday season to make gingerbread men or a gingerbread house.

Example: “We used icing to decorate the gingerbread house”

Tinsel

Tinsel: A long, shiny decoration made of thin strips of foil. Placed on a tree, or around the home during the Holiday season.

Example: “Let’s wrap the tree in silver tinsel this year”
