I found my perfect match in North Carolina. We are considered the South of the states, and we have hot, humid summers and mild winters. Only 3 hours away is the East coast with nice beaches, whereas if you head 3 hours West, you’ll reach the mountains to go skiing or hiking. As an au pair you get the chance to travel and see different places. And you might even get the chance to travel with your host family! A host family doesn’t need to bring you with them on their vacation. They could travel without their au pair. During that time, the au pair is off and can stay at home relax or travel somewhere else! I was fortunate enough and my host family took me on their trips.
